Fall Workshop Summary

The AATSP - Long Island Chapter held a Fall Workshop on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Jericho Middle School. 

The morning began with a beautiful display of breakfast goodies, coordinated by Executive Council member, Nieves Moy.  Joan Anderson, President of the Long Island Chapter, welcomed participants and acknowledged the time and energy put forth by the workshop’s coordinators, Yoshana Silver, Keryn Thienachariya and Lucia Alonso.

Participants attended two 90 minute workshops of their choice.  Offerings included:
•Beginner and Advanced SmartBoard
•Google Earth Virtual Trips
•Checkpoint C:  Language, Culture and Fun
•Using Children’s Literature in the LOTE classroom
•HOLA (Helping Others Learn through Activities)

We thank our presenters Lisa Dunn, Janice Kincaid, Lisa Silveri, Anahi Walton-Schafer and Araceli Vidal for sharing their ideas, practices and techniques.

We appreciate the positive feedback our attendees provided and will try to continue to meet your needs and interests through more professional development workshops.
